Swim Lessons

PARENT & CHILD

B: Water Exploration – Focuses on exploring body positions, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatic skills. This class is recommended for children 8months – 2 years.

CHILD ONLY

1: Water Acclimation – Increase comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills preformed with assistance. Children must be able to float on back independently to move to level 2.
2: Water Movement – Encourages forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently. Children must be able to swim on belly and back independently for 5 yards to move to level 3.
3: Water Stamina – Develops intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distance than in previous stages. Swimmers must be able to swim on back and front independently for 15 yards before moving to level 4.

**Independently means without a parent and without floaties.

SWIM STROKES

4: Stroke Introduction – Introduces basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and reinforces water safety through treading water and elementary backstroke.

Swim Team

The DAYS Blue Dolphin Swim Team is designed to introduce young people to the benefits of competitive swimming. We operate a 6 month program that competes in the Northwest Ohio YMCA league during the fall and winter months.

Our program is designed to meet the following objectives: build self-esteem, learn teamwork, set and achieve goals, fulfill responsibility, promote health and fitness, have fun, and swim FAST!

We welcome swimmers of all ability levels as long as they are committed to working hard.
