Our YMCA has a longstanding dedication to providing programs and services that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. We continue this commitment today by engaging and supporting children and health seekers of all ages.
Monthly Membership Rates
Effective Sept. 1, 2023, the Defiance Area YMCA introduces a new income-based pricing structure. This change makes Y membership more attractive and affordable to more people in our community.
New rates apply to new members joining on or after Sept. 1, 2023 AND apply
to existing members who choose to move to a new income-based rate.
*New rates do not include Ohio sales tax (6.75%)
Membership Type Annual household income
|$50,000 – 64,999||$39||$52||$64||$17|
|$40,000 – 49,999||$33||$47||$57||$17|
Along with our new income-based rates, the Defiance Y is making these changes.
As of Sept. 1, 2023, new members are no longer required to join the Y for a full year. This gives you more flexibility with your membership.
As a reminder, the Defiance Y also charges no joiner fee.
To increase the value of Y membership, all group exercise classes – in our studios and in the pool – are free of charge!
A lot of our members enjoy the health and social benefits of our fitness classes. See what class fits your schedule and interest the best, and start attending it weekly for free.
Effective Sept. 1, 2023, Youth memberships move closer to what we originally intended with this type of membership – a facility access membership.
Youth members get full access to our facility and all its amenities – fitness center, pool, gymnasium, etc. Youth members, however, no longer pay discounted rates for programs that we offer for an extra fee, such as youth sports.
To offset this change, Family memberships are now available with income-based rates, and Family members do receive discounts on all programs.
The YMCA welcomes all who wish to participate and believes that no one should be denied membership based on their ability to pay. Through our Financial Assistance Program, we provide membership assistance to youth, adults and families based on individual needs and circumstances.
At the Defiance Area YMCA, we believe a healthier work force can help manage your healthcare costs, improve productivity, and reduce work place stress.
More than ever, busy parents need support. When parents come to the Y for a class, group activity or workout, their kids need a safe, enriching environment where they can build healthy, trusting relationships with other kids and adults. At Child Watch, children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old play under the supervision of caring, trained Y staff. At the same time, their parents are able to relax and connect with other Y members and enjoy healthy activities at the Y.
